Compass Centre welcomes a new Managing Director

The Compass Centre are delighted to welcome Debbie Sangster into the organisation as our new Managing Director. Debbie brings over 14 years of experience across multiple sectors, most recently with mental health charity See Me Scotland. She is well equipped to lead the Centre into a new chapter, building on the solid foundation established by Linda Gray and Lisa Ward during their time leading the organisation.

Young Shetlander presents survey results on perceptions of sexual violence

Gracie Gowans-Little, a high-school graduate, has compiled her findings for a Social Science Baccalaureate project started while in S6. The “Perceptions of sexual violence in Shetland” project was created out of a genuine interest in the topic and a gap within the research sphere.

LGBT Charter Silver Award

The Compass Centre has achieved the LGBT Charter at Silver level! Workers at the centre have worked hard over the last year to make The Compass Centre as accessible as possible for LGBT survivors, volunteers and staff. This has included new policies, training for staff and board members, an audit of resources, use of social media, new pages on the website, and special events throughout the year.
