Resources

Resources

We have lots of information at the Compass Centre on sexual violence: coping with trauma, what to expect if you report, keeping safe online. Knowing more can help with understanding sexual violence, and what to do about it. We also have an extensive library of leaflets and books available that you can take home to help in this process.

Rape Crisis Scotland’s website also has lots of leaflets and information for survivors, friends and family.

Self-Help Resources

We have put together a few self-help online resources on processing trauma, ways of coping and recovery. These have been selected by our workers, for survivors of sexual violence who are waiting for support. They include booklets, exercises to download, recommended reading, videos and apps. View our resources here.

During this time of social distancing and self-isolation, there are many feelings to navigate, good days and dark days. We have also included resources for survivors which look at managing anxiety, grounding techniques and about wellbeing.

We know how hard and frustrating it is to have to wait for support and we hope that these resources will be helpful and supportive. Our message is that recovery is possible, survivors survive – please don’t give up.

If you want to speak to, text or email someone, don’t forget that, Rape Crisis Scotland’s National Helpline is open 6pm – midnight every night on 08088 01 03 02, text 07537 410 027 or email support@rapecrisisscotland.org.uk.
